Privacy Policy

“ICETRAK” is a mobile application owned by CBIC which offers various Customs related services, information and status enquiries to the public or the Trade. CBIC recognizes the importance of privacy as well as the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of personal information. This Privacy Policy applies to all products and services provided by CBIC and sets out how CBIC may collect, use and disclose information in relation to Users of the Application.


All capitalized terms not defined in this document shall have the meanings ascribed to them in the Terms of Use of the Application, which can be found here.

    1. COLLECTION OF INFORMATION:
  • Users’ privacy is important to CBIC andCBIC has taken steps to ensure that CBIC does not collect more information from Users than is necessary for CBIC to provide Users with CBIC’s services and to protect Users’account.
  • Information including, but not limited to, User name, address, phone number, fax number, email address, gender, date and/or year of birth and user preferences ("Registration Information") may be collected at the time of User registration on the Application.
    2. Use of Personal Data:

    If you provide any Personal Data to CBIC, you are deemed to have authorized CBIC to collect, retain and use that Personal Data for the following purposes:

  • Verification of Users’ identity;
  • Providing Users with customer service and responding to Users’ queries, feedback, claims or disputes;
  • To facilitate communication between Users on the Application and /or processing Users’ transactions on the Application;
  • Performing research or statistical analysis in order to improve the content and layout of the Application, to improve CBIC product offerings and services and for marketing and promotional purposes;
  • Subject to applicable law, CBIC may share necessary data with other Government agencies, so as to serve Users in a most efficient and effective way, unless such sharing is prohibited by legislation. We will not share your personal data with non-Government entities, except where such entities have been authorized to carry out specific Government services.
  • If Users voluntarily submit User-information or other information to the Application for publication on the Application through the publishing tools, then Users are deemed to have given consent to the publication of such information on the Application; and
  • Making such disclosures as may be required for any of the above purposes or as required by law, regulations and guidelines or in respect of any investigations, claims or potential claims brought on or against us or against third parties. For Users’ convenience, we may also display to a User his/her own data which he/she had previously supplied on the application or other Government agencies. This will speed up the transaction and save the user the trouble of repeating previous submissions. Should the data be out-of-date, the user shall supply us the latest data. We will retain Users’ personal data only as necessary for the effective delivery of public services to Users.
    3. Disclosure of Personal Data and Security:
  • Users further agree that CBIC may disclose and transfer Users’ Personal Data to third party service providers (Govt.) that are providing CBIC with services (including but not limited to data entry, database management, promotions, products and services alerts, delivery services, payment extension services, authentication and verification services and logistics services) ("Service Providers"). These Service Providers are under a duty of confidentiality to CBIC and are only permitted to use Users’ Personal Data in connection with the purposes specified in clause 2 herein above.
  • Users agree that CBIC may disclose and transfer Users’ Personal Data to CBIC Service Providers.
  • When necessary,CBIC may also disclose and transfer Users’ Personal Data to our professional advisers, law enforcement agencies, insurers, government, and regulatory and other organizations.
  • To safeguard Users’ personal data, all electronic storage and transmission of personal data are secured with appropriate security technologies.
  • This Application may contain links to non-Government sites whose data protection and privacy practices may differ from ours. Thus, we shall never be responsible for the content and privacy practices of these other websites and encourage you to consult the privacy notices of those sites before sharing any information.
  • By using the Application, users consent to the collection and use of their information including their personal data as outlined in this privacy statement.
  • CBIC employs commercially reasonable security methods to prevent unauthorized access to the Application, to maintain data accuracy and to ensure the correct use of the information CBIC holds. No data transmission over the internet or any wireless network can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure. As a result, while CBIC tries to protect the information it holds, CBIC cannot guarantee the security of any information Userstransmit beyond the stated policies and terms and conditions of CBIC.
    4. Right to update personal data:

    Under the applicable laws, Users have the right of access to personal information held by CBIC and to request updating / correcting the information.

    5. Minors:

    The Application and its contents are not targeted to minors (those under the age of 18). However, CBIC has no way of distinguishing the age of individuals who access our Application. If a minor has provided CBIC with personal information without parental or guardian consent, the parent or guardian should contact CBIC Legal Department at the email address set out below to remove the information.

    6. Changes in the Privacy Policy:

    Any changes to this Privacy Policy will be communicated by us posting an amended and restated Privacy Policy on the Application. Once posted on the Application,the new Privacy Policy will be effective immediately. Users agree that any information CBIC holds about Users (as described in this Privacy Policy and whether or not collected prior to or after the new Privacy Policy became effective) will be governed by the latest version of the Privacy Policy. We may modify or discontinue any information or features that form part of The Application at any time, with or without notice to users, and without liability.

    7. Cookies:

    CBIC uses "cookies" to store specific information about Users and track Users’ visits to the Sites. A "cookie" is a small amount of data that is sent to Users’ browser and stored on Users’ device. When Users visit our websites, we automatically collect technical information from their computer or other device. We use cookies (small text files that are placed on users’ computer) to give users the best possible experience when visiting our websites, as described in our global Cookies Policy which users can access here. Users can disable cookies through their web browser’s settings and still access our websites – although certain functionality may not be available to users in those circumstances. The information we may collect about users in this way may include the Internet Protocol (IP) address used, browser type and version, the type of device used, and time zone setting, etc. We may also collect information about each visit a user makes to our website, including which website a user was on immediately before he/she navigated to our sites, and how he/she progressed through and from our sites – as well as content he/shehas searched for or viewed on our sites.

    8. Aboutthis App:

    ICETRAK is an application designed to bring different Customs related services on a single platform. To begin with, thefollowing actions can be performed using this application:

  • Track Consignment (Bill of Entry/Shipping Bills)
  • Check GSTIN availability with Customs
  • Access customs laws & regulations
  • Calculate applicable duty
  • Access notifications and circulars library
  • Read and verify the QR code printed by Indian Customs EDI System on various Customs Declarations/Documents
